Vectorform hosted Detroit ACM SIGGRAPH with event partners Detroit VR Meetup and Michigan Mograph Mondays on Monday, May 22 to share insights on content production for VR, AR, and beyond. We have been using this technology to transform the way we all live and work. From brand recognition and product visualization to cutting-edge, high-consequence training, they are inventing the future of digital experiences.

Scientists, engineers, artists, practitioners and entrepreneurs interested in the advancements of Computer Graphics attended this tech talk and learned about preparing and producing content for augmented and/or immersive experiences.

Presentations covered the following topics:

  • Photogrammetry: what it is, how they use this technique in their AR/VR/MR workflow to create detailed and photorealistic models in a fraction of the time, and best practices and lessons learned.
  • Shader Forge: A brief introduction to nodes and node trees, along with examples of how they can be used to generate real and unreal effects.
  • Social Experiences: VR is evolving our connected lives by removing the screens that separate us and fully immersing people together in the same digital space. We will explore how these new forms of social engagement will forever change our work, play and lives.
