Composer and performer from Seattle, WA and Vectorform team member, Joshua Parmenter, gave a presentation focusing on his development of the SuperCollider programming language for live electronic interaction with performers. He discussed how boundaries have been pushed by musicians, composers and artists over the past twenty years. Musician and electronic artist currently based in Berlin, Alexandra Cardenás, also presented and demonstrated Live Coding practices. These practices have been fueling the Algorave concerts gaining popularity throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. Additionally, Christina Dakroub, musician and visual artist, active in the Detroit electronic music community, discussed work she is doing with live visual interaction, sound and performance. Shelly Knots was live-streamed in as a guest as well. Shelly produces live-coded and network music performances and projects which explore aspects of code, data and collaboration.
The evening culminated in an Algorave performance from Joshua, Alexandra, Shelly and Christina.
